“Tower”

The mighty spire soars up above

The murky dreams of human eyes.

They, once rumored to shine like stars,

rise above the veil of sky.

Acting as an earthly arm 

It reaches for the heavens.

It's fingers cloaked in cotton clouds,

Aids in man’s procession.

We who crawl and grovel,

against the earthen floor,

fight and flounder amongst each other

to reach the great azure.

While we fight against the fray

We remember what we swore.

We promised we would reach the sky,

Tower provides the door.

In it we search for a better place.

From its vantage points we find,

That as we stride it’s timeworn floors,

Life and Tower intertwine.
